Here are the 10 trending costumes for the week before Halloween
1. Squid Game (Enforcer)
The popularity of Netflix’s most watched show of all time has resulted in more than 1 million searches for ‘Squid Game Halloween Costumes’ on Google in October.
Fashion searches on LovetheSales.com’s marketplace for ‘Red Boiler Suits’ also skyrocketed by 143% in October, compared to October 2020 figures.
Sales of ‘Black Gloves’ have also spiked by 160% on LovetheSales.com in October, compared to October 2020 figures.
Squid Game’s ‘Enforcer’ uniform is crowned ‘Most wanted Halloween costume of 2021.’
2. Squid Game (Player)
Google searches for ‘Squid Game Player Costumes’ are just 14% lower than searches for the ‘Enforcer’ outfit. Handing the ‘Player’ costume second place on this list.
According to Variety, sales of white slip-on Vans increased by 7,800% since Squid Game’s release on Netflix.
Page views on LovetheSales.com for ‘Green Tracksuits’ peaked by 114% in October, compared to October 2020 figures.
Brands known for retro tracksuits, such as Fred Perry, are benefiting hugely from the show’s popularity.

The iconic giant doll from the first episode also caused a huge spike in fashion searches on LovetheSales.com with many fans clamouring to make their own versions of the creepy, murderous doll’s outfit from high street and big brand clothing matches.
Sales of ‘Orange Skater Midi Dresses’ increased by over 264% on LovetheSales.com in October, compared to October 2020 figures.
Sales of ‘Black Flat Shoes’ have also shot up by 125% on LovetheSales.com. (October 2021 v October 2020 figures)
And fashion searches for ‘Peter Pan Collar Blouses’ increased by 47% on LovetheSales.com in October, compared to October 2020 figures.
4. Harley Quinn
Summer smash ‘The Suicide Squad’ brought Harley Quinn’s outfits back into the Halloween spotlight this year.
Google searches for ‘Harley Quinn Costume’ surpassed 346,000 in October.
Demand on Google for the supervillain’s outfits are up 50% this October, compared to October 2020.
5. Cruella
Emma Stone starred in the popular Cruella de Vil origin story which premiered on Disney+ earlier this year.
‘Cruella Costumes’ were searched over 244,000 times on Google this month.
That is a 1,380% uplift in costume searches for the Disney villain this Halloween, compared to Halloween 2020.
6. Britney Spears
A very public court case and a Netflix documentary to follow suit (Britney v Spears), has put the popstar in the front and centre of news headlines.
‘Britney Costume’ has already been searched 102,000 times in October.
That’s 392% more people wanting to dress as Britney this Halloween, compared to Halloween 2020.
7. James Bond (No Time to Die)
Fashion sales of James Bond attire has skyrocketed in October, after Daniel Craig said farewell to the secret agent in ‘No Time to Die’.
Sales of tuxedos increased by 174% in October. (Compared with October 2020 figures)
